Looking back on the year of the festival
As our final festival draws to a close we look back fondly at our 10 amazing festivals that have taken place in Aberdeen this year.
The year kicked off with a spectacular festival of light celebrating the remarkable architecture and open spaces in the city centre. Spectra is back from 9-12 February 2017.
One of our finest music festivals electrified the city with a sensational programme of live entertainment including the Jazz on the Green! Aberdeen Jazz Festival returns from 15-19 March 2017.
Look Again Festival
Known for its provoking unpredictability, Look Again Festival once again got people talking as it placed some unusual objects around Aberdeen… The festival is back in April 2017.
With a varied line-up, May Festival catered for the whole family and even welcomed famous faces over the festival weekend! May Festival returns in May 2017.
Aberdeen International Youth Festival (AIYF)
Once more the vibrant festival got us all involved, welcoming attendees and participants from across the globe. AIYF is back in July 2017.
There was no way us adults were leaving this year without learning something new… even if that was how best to pair food with wine! TechFest returns in September 2017.
North East Open Studios (NEOS)
We were invited to meet the fantastic artists and makers of the region and wow were we impressed! NEOS is back in September 2017.
Watching headliners including Laura Mvula as well as introducing us to amazing local singer-songwriters, there’s no way we’re going to forget True North in a hurry. True North returns in September 2017.
The world of contemporary dance is exhilarating and we are delighted to have a festival celebrating this! DanceLive is back in October 2017.
We were lucky enough to experience ground-breaking new music as well as being treated to world premieres. sound is back in October 2017.
