A new light
There’s no hiding that our award winning festival, SPECTRA, it’s just round the corner! And the reason there’s no hiding it, is that there’s fascinating images of what’s coming round every corner…
Does this look familiar?
We’ve seen it across the city centre, it’s the Cloud. A tribute to Scotland’s most ubiquitous invention – the light bulb! This interactive light sculpture is made up of 6,000 light bulbs forming the cloud of light.
And here’s Paul Friedlander’s Wave Garden.
Found in Union Terrace Gardens for the full duration of the light festival, this is an exclusive installation of illuminated kinetic wave sculptures – fascinating if you ask us!
You would be pushed to say these Hot Heads didn’t look intriguing…
Believe it or not, these Hot Heads have been newly commissioned to create fire bursts of Aberdonian’s who shaped our Granite City!
These are just some teasers of what to expect. There will be plenty more to see across all five festival venues including memories of the Music Hall brought to life through a digital carousel and giant stick figure spiders will take over the St Nicholas Kirkyard.
The full festival map is now available and gives you details of all of the amazing installations coming to Aberdeen city centre from 9-12 February.
The 2016 got people talking; 2017 is your year to find out just why it’s one of the city’s most highly anticipated festivals. For more information visit www.spectraaberdeen.com.
