Make your weekends #DanceLive18
DanceLive isn’t scared to get people talking – or moving – and it’s back from 11-27 October 2018 with another electric programme of contemporary dance to challenge everything you thought you knew about dance.
We’ve got your October weekends in Aberdeen covered this autumn:
11-14 October 2018 – dance to challenge
Moving your opinions as well as your feet, DanceLive kicks off with its first festival weekend in Aberdeen. ‘Brexit means Brexit!’ – what does this repeated phrase mean? DanceLive is going to explore it through dance!
The festival moves to emotion, as a trio of dancers use movement to explore personality disorders at ‘Dancing Along the Borderline’. This event is a contribution to World Mental Health Day and will be following by a Q&A. Learn how dance can help to deal with and express emotions too at ‘It’s Okay, I’m Dealing With it’.

Feel the depth of the art as you watch Eowyn Emerald and Dancers. Just back from the Edinburgh Fringe, this is a fearless theatrical experience.
The must-see festival events, Dance Double Bill are back with two performances this weekend. ‘Just Another Barking Dog’ and ‘How to Survive the Future & Curated Moments’ – two dance works from Scottish choreographers.
Swan Lake with a 21st century twist; sounds like DanceLive is taking over His Majesty’s Theatre this week!
25-27 October 2018 – dance, sleep, repeat

Think smashed cups, breaking walls, cutting up furniture and sawing legs off chairs – this is A String Section performed live at DanceLive, this is liberation!
The weekend then moves on to the party. Bringing the party to the streets, performances by Clairica Parinussa with 'Untitled (Labyrinth)' will happen on Belmont Street exploring the movement of the body.
And in the evening, the festival comes to a close with live music and dance at Reckless Sleepers & Closing Party – a festival collaboration with soundfestival.
If you fancy trying out some of these dance moves for yourself, make sure to check out the workshops on this weekend.
