Scottish Traditional Boat Festival
In 2019 Aberdeenshire celebrates 26 years of the Scottish Traditional Boat Festival (STBF) in Portsoy, showcasing an action-packed weekend of boats, crafts, live music, food and drink.
There will be a fine range of historic boats, with opportunities to get on board and talk to the enthusiastic crews who will regale their seafaring experiences. Put your sea faring skills to the test in coracles in the Old Harbour!
A full and lively programme of music is guaranteed, with many musicians and performers taking to stages, streets and venues around the town to entertain the crowds - do join in with a song or dance!
This festival creates the perfect day out for the family and plenty for the kids to enjoy such as storytelling sessions, children’s shows, bouncy castles, face painting and lots more, including the Wee Red Bus, a festival favourite!
Sample the enticing and delicious food and drink of the many producers and caterers in the popular Food Fayre and around the festival, there’s something to tempt every palette. Visit the Food Demonstration area to be inspired by creative dishes made from the produce in the Food Fayre.
Whatever your interest, STBF is sure to have something to offer, it really is a day out for the whole family and the festival looks forward to welcoming you to Portsoy, Aberdeenshire!
